I upgraded by following a structured process, ensuring each step was carefully executed for optimal results.

took the laptop apart, removed the old SSD, put in the new one, sealed it up, turned it on using the old SSD, but nothing came out. I also tried starting it with the old SSD without success.

I managed to get it running while connected, but the boot drive isn’t appearing.

Removing the old SSD with Windows installed or the bootloader requires using a USB drive to reinstall or fix Windows.

You're encountering an issue where the Windows installer is using a USB drive, but it prompts that you need to start your computer with the installation media. This can happen if the system isn't ready or the setup process requires a specific launch method.

No, it wasn't the only drive. Your laptop likely has additional drives as well.

You must reinstall Windows along with all the applications you previously installed. The fresh drive is empty of any data.

Parents thought I was joking around with the laptop and tried to help, but it got worse. Now I'm installing a brand-new Windows 11 on a fresh USB to check if it works (since the old one was damaged).
