I contacted AMD about my CPU classification (R5 1600) because it was labeled as AF instead of AE, which the originals had. They said it should be a Pinnacle ridge (Zen+), but Windows 11 doesn’t accept that. I’m curious what’s required to fix this. My PC healthchecker suggested restoring and advanced options, but it reset everything. Did anyone else with a 1600 AF get Windows 11 legit without tricks? Is the AF model just problematic in Zen+? How did you manage it? Thanks for any help!
Essentially a full reset? That wasn’t what I expected, but I might appreciate it later. I was counting on it being just something I needed to replace in the BIOS. Thanks!
If it’s going to be a bother, I’ll hold off until I can upgrade to a 3k series CPU. Right now it might just be next year. Hopefully, but thanks anyways.
It doesn't need a special BIOS setup. It's just a regular update like any other.
