The VRMS on your motherboard seems to be overheating. At idle it operates around 75°C, but during Cinebench it exceeded 95°C. When you touched the VRM heatsink, it felt extremely hot—like touching a metal object. Is this normal behavior? Your motherboard is an MSI B350m Pro-Vdh and your CPU is a Ryzen 9 3900X.

VRMs perform well up to around 100°C, so 95°C in Cinebench is near the safe limit. However, most motherboards will push their VRMs beyond that threshold, causing throttling to prevent damage. This leads to reduced CPU performance. Your setup probably hits this limit—known as "power throttling"—because the board wasn’t built for the 3900X’s power draw. Check your benchmark results; if they’re noticeably lower, adding a fan to the VRM is likely essential. If that doesn’t stop the VRM from reaching its maximum temperature and slowing clocks, it’s time to consider a new motherboard.

With temperatures around 75°C during gaming, everything should be fine. However, if you constantly run CPU-intensive tasks like live encoding or rendering across all cores, a motherboard with extra VRM capacity would be ideal. For now, don’t stress—just ensure good airflow over the motherboard.

i don't believe this motherboard fits that cpu after all... nice case design! you should consider a better one like b550 or x570. this isn't right though—it should have open front and side ports, which is still fine. do you have any fans installed? 2 front vents and 1 rear exhaust are definitely necessary in this situation! your temps are cpu maxing around 85°C, gpu 72°C, but typically it's closer to cpu 61°C and gpu 60°C during gaming.

the thing about the inwin 301 is its compact size—it feels like a premium wind tunnel, right? You’ll definitely need powerful intake fans (like noctuas) and a strong rear fan. Also notice that when I turn off my PSU fan (PSU is on top), the case gets at least 10°C hot, if not more. That means the PSU fan is actually essential as an exhaust for this setup. I’m not saying it’s great airflow, but it’s decent if you arrange your fans properly. What’s really pointless are the bottom fans—they only add about 1°C less cooling. So they’re probably unnecessary. (I don’t use any fans at the bottom...) I believe the bottom is intended for a radiator, though honestly I think this case isn’t really meant for watercooling. You can’t fit a 360 radiator in it, I think.
