Over the past few months I've found gaming less enjoyable. The newest titles no longer spark the same excitement for me. My collection now includes 363 Steam games, around 25 Origin titles, 4 Blizzard games, and 8 Uplay games. None of them evoke that joyful feeling anymore. Instead, I mostly spend time browsing the web or watching videos on YouTube and Twitch. Anyone else feel this way? How can I regain that sense of excitement? Perhaps a complete gaming break would help?

I tried, but if you're not into gaming, don't push yourself. Give yourself a break.

I’m starting to feel the same way. I spend money on my PC for games but don’t play as much. Consider trying a different genre you haven’t played before. If that doesn’t help, switch to social games like Gmod with a Skype call. You might also take a break—usually it helps things feel fresh again. You won’t get the same high (like that fedora vibe), but you can still enjoy gaming once more.

I think it would be best to step away for a while. I have too many games and I’m not feeling motivated to play. Often I struggle to decide which one to pick. I’d like to enjoy every game I own, but choosing among so many great options can be overwhelming.

I'm in the same stage too. I prefer watching YouTube over playing games these days.

It's been three and a half years since something similar occurred. I didn’t try to push it, so I’ve focused on different activities that interest me (the last game I played was Mass Effect 3). Gaming isn’t the only path in life—there are many other options available. You can always revisit it when the urge comes back. I haven’t tried yet, but maybe someday I will. If not, I’ll just keep moving forward with other pursuits.

Also true. Feels a bit odd, right?

Happens a lot (more regularly as you get older) Best thing to do is take a break and let it get out your system. I lost interest around mid December and took a break. Just recently got back into gaming and I feel better. It also helps to wait for that 1 good game.

You may find it interesting to revisit classic titles. Steam offers a solid range of older games, and you could also explore emulators for more options.
