It doesn't matter if it's a port. Steam needs to establish a benchmark.

I just checked the reviews for FF Type-0. As a true FF enthusiast, I actually placed a preorder too, along with the Dota 2 hats. The Steam user content image linked seems to be misleading, making me doubt everything. Also, the 30 FPS lock is frustrating. Have other game developers picked this up? This isn’t just a casual project—it’s a full-featured title ported to PS4. It makes sense that they’d aim for better quality there since similar systems are used. I’m giving up on preorders now. This won’t happen again, even if it comes from Square Enix.

I believe steam requires some consistency. Many games are available as ports anyway.
Better expectations mean fewer games, which leads to reduced sales, lower profits, and ultimately steam loses out—so it won’t happen.
Game developers must understand what it takes to run a successful game. Avoid the misleading claims like 30FPS "but it looks cinematic" and focus on real performance. Modders often improve things, but big companies still rely heavily on them for fixes. It’s frustrating when they fix small issues while ignoring bigger problems.
