Issues with the game's performance in Dragon Age Inquisition
The performance of Dragon Age on your setup varies a lot depending on the load. Even when idle, it can drop below 20 FPS, while at full intensity it often reaches around 60 FPS. It’s similar to what you experienced after installing the PC, though not as extreme. This behavior is common for older hardware like yours, which has limited capabilities compared to modern systems.
Check your GPU performance using MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X to identify any potential bottlenecks in your system.
Many will claim the FX-6300 is slowing down, but I believe it’s performing worse than shown. There may be overheating issues causing performance drops. Could you retrieve temperature readings while it’s under stress?
Have 4 screenshots available—2 of them poor quality and 2 clear. CPU, GPU, RAM stats, temperatures, and FPS. Good examples: the first image, the third one, and the fourth. Bad ones: the second and fifth.
I also thought it likely, maybe an AMD FX 8320 or 8350 could help. I don’t want to switch platforms or waste a lot of money on a new CPU. I’ll likely buy a better cooler and case too.
Investing in an 8350 wouldn't provide significant value. You won't see much improvement in performance. The best choice would be to move to another platform, but since you mentioned you're not interested in that, stick with what you have now and upgrade later when new CPUs arrive. The FX CPUs aren't worth the extra cost—they fall short of expectations. (I've owned an 8320)
