I believe the issues stemmed from it being sold as an OEM in 2021, while the 5600gt was intended for desktop use as retail in 2024.

The 5600g came from OEM starting mid-2021 until August 5th, when it became a separate CPU available for purchase. The 5600GT is another model.

For this scenario, a more affordable option would be preferable. If the i3 model is accessible at a reduced cost, it would make sense to choose it. You'll also avoid the need for a costly motherboard altogether.
