Running with MSAA disabled and everything else at standard settings gives around 50 frames per second, while disabling MSAA but keeping the GPU at high settings drops to under 30 fps, sometimes as low as the low teens. Your hardware specs and system configuration look typical for this performance range. The numbers you shared match what you'd expect under those conditions. If you're aiming for smoother gameplay, consider adjusting your settings or checking for any background processes affecting performance.

Looks like many folks are experiencing these issues with this specific card. I’ve got a 650 and still manage 60+ FPS on standard settings, though it can drop under 60 at 1920x1080. That’s probably due to its VRAM capacity.

Normal settings refer to the standard configurations. Medium means typical performance, high is the maximum, and very high is the top tier. Your experience shows you're usually around 60fps on high, dropping to 40 with occasional stuttering.

Is your processor operating at full capacity? I've seen this with my 4670K, which leads to frame rate drops.

I don’t have information on the standard configuration. It seems it might be set to a lower level, but I can’t verify that without more context. Since you’re at work, you may need to consult your team or documentation.

Generally it looks like the game is highly optimized, but reports suggest significant CPU usage which might indicate it could benefit from Vulkan or DX12 for smoother performance. A driver update or patch from NVIDIA or Rockstar could help. Consider adjusting draw distance or other settings to see if that improves stability.

I'm counting on it because R* isn't planning to release GTAVI for over five years, so GTAV should eventually get an update to DX12. :3
