Hello everyone, I recently upgraded my system from a 3070 to a 5070 Ti and decided to try Borderlands 3, as I haven't played it much before. I observed some minor delays and stuttering during gameplay, so I wanted to dig deeper into the issue. To my surprise, using MSI Afterburner, I found that my FPS would drop to 22–7 for a brief moment before returning to normal at random times. I spent several hours trying to fix this problem without success so far.

PC Specifications:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5700X3D
- No OC CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212
- GPU: Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti Windforce OC
- No OC RAM: Kingston 2×16 GB DDR4
- Dual-channel 3600 MHz PSU: Corsair 750 Watt 80 PLUS® Platinum
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-E
- Case: NZXT H510i
- Monitor: Samsung Odyssey 27-inch 240Hz 1440p
- Keyboard: Corsair K100
- Mouse: Logitech G102
- OS: Windows 11 25H2

What I've attempted:
- Verified DOCP and Resizable BAR in BIOS
- Updated motherboard BIOS
- Kept Windows updated
- Updated monitor firmware using DDU
- Removed GPU drivers with DDU and reinstalled
- Disabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters in BIOS
- Set PCIE1_16 to Gen 4
- Reinstalled the game
- Uninstalled Armoury Crate and iCue, cleaned registry
- Turned off USB selective suspend in Windows
- Disabled power-saving mode for each USB device in Device Manager
- Lowered and optimized in-game settings
- Turned off VSync in NVIDIA Control Panel, Windows, and monitor

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I believe JayZTwoCents highlighted the need to activate ReBAR in BIOS and within the Nvidia app. It's worth investigating. I concur that any frame restriction software is ineffective because your monitor doesn't even hit its refresh rate (240 Hz). A simple test would be to set your game's framerate to 120 fps and observe the results. Good luck!

While playing this, I experienced some minor stuttering that made the game difficult to play. This issue was resolved by adjusting certain settings (see link: https://www.reddit.com/r/borderlands3/co...ing_crazy/). Try disabling volumetric fog, turning off all social features—especially notification frequency—and setting your FPS to match your monitor’s refresh rate. Run the benchmark tool at least three times; this should train the shaders and reduce stuttering. Also turn off motion blur. I believe the main improvement came from removing social settings. Hope this helps!

It seems you're asking about running BL3 on an older GPU. Your temperatures and usage are what I'm looking for! 😊

Apparent problem with the game; consider setting a 60FPS limit and let me know.

You reviewed the Nvidia app and confirmed rebar was activated. Adjusting FPS to 120 didn’t resolve the issue.

I enjoyed playing Borderlands 3 on my older graphics card. I managed about 30 hours of playtime before upgrading. The GPU and CPU stayed under 75°C, and the game performance was around 95-100% GPU usage and 25-30% CPU usage.

At 60 frames per second it seems to occur a bit more rarely, though it still fell to 5 fps for a brief moment.

Verify the GPU frequency during dips. Adjusting the power setting to performance in the game's settings via the Nvidia control panel could assist.
