I experienced a power surge recently and my computer began crashing afterward. One day it stopped booting completely, so I investigated possible causes. It turned out one of my RAM sticks had burned, which is why the PC worked normally when removed, but sometimes I encounter strange freezing or audio buzzing for short periods. I think the motherboard might also be damaged. Thank you for your help.

If the surge was severe enough to destroy a stick of RAM, it might also have affected other components. The CPU memory controller could have been damaged too. Have you swapped out the faulty RAM and are there any mismatches left?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, make sure to provide complete system details. List your specifications clearly, such as:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also mention the BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.
If you're using a Ryzen platform, note that a single stick of RAM may limit performance, and this applies similarly if the other stick is not installed.
