Hello everyone! This is my debut post, and I’m hoping the accompanying photos give you sufficient details. I’ve been diving into self-learning about my hardware and using benchmarks to evaluate my equipment and gauge my PC’s potential. (I’ve been doing a lot of research so far). Still, I’m struggling with many aspects and would really appreciate your assistance.

I’ve encountered some roadblocks—I’m trying to get my RAM into its XMP profile, but it doesn’t activate. I’ve also attempted to manually set the timings in the BIOS without any luck. The LPX Vengeance 3000 MHz RAM isn’t running at its advertised speed, no matter what I do, which is frustrating. I’m using an AORUS B450 Pro WiFi from GIGABYTE with the latest BIOS.

For my benchmark testing (3D Mark, Heaven Benchmark, MSI Kombustor), I’ve managed to push my GPU to 99% in the tests, but it still shows higher performance than a typical gaming laptop. (After my 3D Mark Time Spy Benchmark in DirectX 12.) I’ll share the results if that helps. I understand this depends on my optimization settings, and I’ll also post my MSI Afterburner configuration based on research about GPU and CPU stability.

However, when playing games like "Squad" (a multiplayer game with up to 100 players), my Afterburner overlay indicates that my GPU, CPU, and RAM aren’t reaching full capacity. Frames hover around 30 on average, dropping to 10-18 after long sessions. All components are running at normal temps and my settings seem stable. Someone suggested it might be related to my motherboard’s FSB speed, but I’m not sure.

I’m really stuck after seven days of troubleshooting and feel overwhelmed. Please let me know if you need more screenshots—I’m happy to share them to aid in diagnosing and fixing this issue. Thanks for checking out my post!

First Gen Ryzen had some issues with XMP and memory profiles, probably due to a CPU problem rather than the motherboard.

xmp is automatic so its not perfect and sometimes it simply doesnt work, maybe using a ram calculator to predetermine what the best timings for your ram would work best, then write them down then manually oc it to 3000mhz? but again no guarantee that it would work, and it could be just a first gen zen issue like @Shimejii said

I own a B450 PRO4 from ASRock with 3200mhz Vengeance CL16 RAM connected to a 2600x. Stability at 2933 isn't achievable yet; I'm currently stuck around 2866 at 1.37v. I've never managed to exceed 2866, possibly due to timing constraints at that speed. On my machine, XMP doesn't work even though the board supports 3200 and the RAM is rated for it. The 2600x can still run at 3200 overclocked.

I had already configured it in my BIOS. I set the correct MHz and timing to align with the 3000 MHz advertised for the dual sticks. Nothing seemed to improve.

The current voltage is what you're seeing, and typically higher frequencies do need more voltage.

it should work fine to reach 3000mhz using just 1.35v without any problems

I'm not even trying to boost the RAM speed. It seems it won't reach 3000 MHz. Maybe I'm viewing it incorrectly?

Based on my own observations, 2866 needed about 1.37 volts to prevent it from shutting down instantly.
