Sure, if the lights have a cable connected we can confirm the hardware is active, which covers both points one and three. I’d proceed to download the drivers from another machine. There’s also typically a CD included with the motherboard that contains the drivers—though they’re often outdated, you might still get by.
If it doesn’t function, would switching to a NIC be an option? At this stage, I prefer a Wi-Fi connection over a wired one.
You can connect with a wired card, wireless card, or USB dongle for either LAN or WLAN.
