Hey there! Are you searching for a specific type of processor for your LGA1151 motherboard? The 6th/7th generation is available on LGA1151v1, while the 8th/9th generation can be found on LGA1151v2.

Are you thinking about moving to a newer system instead of spending around 400 CAD on a new motherboard? What happened with the old one? eBay Canada offers Z170 boards for about 200 CAD shipped from China, including MSI and ASUS options. If it supports overclocking with an unlocked chip, those could be worth checking out.

You're considering switching to an LGA1200 10th gen CPU and a Z490 motherboard. Your old Z170 was working, but you're hoping to find a budget-friendly replacement that still offers good value. You're careful about making purchases without fully committing to the best option.

Regarding the prior situation, I’m uncertain about the reason behind it. I have a 00 fault code and it won’t upload.

The i3 12100 with the B660 board offers better value and performance. Consider this pairing over the alternatives.

You're considering a more affordable option, but it doesn't offer the same performance as the recommended model.

That's a better price point compared to the 10700KF based on PCPP's CAD rates. It should perform similarly or better, offering the chance to upgrade to a 13th generation model later, and using a more up-to-date system overall.

It performs better than your current setup. Even with the top 6th generation (6700k), the i3 12100 boosts it by two in r23 multi-thread and roughly 40% faster on a single core.
