Issue with opening .exe file
Hello, I'm facing issues with an .exe file I recently downloaded. When I click it, the admin window appears, I choose "yes," and then the mouse indicates something is loading, but it disappears after a couple of seconds. I checked the task manager and processes list; the installer shows up briefly (about 0.5 seconds) with a "suspended" status, then closes. The file I'm trying to run is the Logitech Control installer, which worked on my Surface Go using Opera. I've tried different browsers—Chrome—and downloaded an older version. I verified %appdata%, %programdata%, and the registry, disabled Windows Security, right-clicked the file, checked permissions, restarted the PC, and even tested WhatsApp Desktop to see if it affected the problem. No one seems to have reported the same issue online. Please help! Thank you!
However, when I saved it to my Surface Go, everything functioned properly... I'm confused about that.
Thank you for your reply! It seems none of the options provided were successful. Updated: To examine the .dll files, I attempted to run "sfc /scannow" via Win CMD, but it didn’t open. Instead of CMD, I used Windows PowerShell, which launched the scan but didn’t detect any issues. I discovered a workaround by enabling the hidden administrator account in PowerShell: set-account -username admin -activestate yes. After logging out and back in as administrator, I was able to access CMD and install the software. Now I just need to log out again and log in with my regular account.
