I faced an issue while attempting to install a new amd cpu yesterday. Initially, the installation went smoothly. After setting it up, I realized I needed a BIOS update. I flashed the BIOS and updated it. When I tried to boot the PC, it started but there was no display. I went through all troubleshooting steps without success. Today, I decided to use the old CPU to verify if everything still functioned correctly and confirm it wasn’t a hardware problem. After swapping in the old CPU, I attempted to power on the computer, but it didn’t respond at all. I tried jump starting it, but nothing worked either. All connections were secure, yet nothing turned on. Any advice or options would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've checked if that's something you've done.

How would I do that? Can I even do that when nothing powers on at all? No fans spin nothing.

yes remove the battery, and the psu power cable and press the case start button a few times to get rid of resdue electricity, i'd then start pc without battery back in see if it boots up..but if you are getting no life at all..i.e no fan spin/lights then probably not a bios issue?

It depends—checking the battery might help, but only if you're certain it's the right component. If you're unsure, proceed with caution and consider consulting a professional.

Attempt to restart the system. If no power is present, check other components. Consider testing the battery connection. Also, inspect the removal of the 24-pin connector from the motherboard—sometimes the PSU enters protection mode and won’t activate until cleared. Disconnect the power cable from the PSU and verify if that resolves the issue.

Turn off your PC completely and disconnect it from the power source. Locate the motherboard battery and carefully remove it using a screwdriver. Adjust the pins as needed. Video tutorial available for reference.

I just went through the thread again—do you know if your PSU switch is on?
