Absolutely, many routers still provide 1000/100mbit Ethernet connections, letting you decide between regular Ethernet and gigabit speeds for your devices.

The router is quite old, likely from a time when 100Mbps connections weren't common.

Yeah. That's not old enough. It might be set to 100Mbps, but it needs to handle at least 1Gbps.

Performed a speed test on Ubuntu. Outcomes matched those on Windows.

I don’t have access to specific router details. Could you provide more information or clarify your question?

Are you sure it's not related to the network card? Check if other devices are experiencing the same issue on the same cable and router port.

Well, it seems the other Windows laptop you connected only reached about 200 Mb/s, while my MacBook consistently hits 300 Mb/s on WiFi.

I purchased every component brand new from a large PC Parts store in Poland. In my mind, it originally came with 1060 6GB, but I changed it to a 3070 a few months ago. The Ethernet issues began around that time. I was occupied with my university work, so I addressed it now. No further problems have occurred since then.
