Is there any sound coming from the power supply?
PSU noise occurs briefly before stopping and recurring after a minute, repeating for hours. The system specifications include: GTX 1660, Ryzen 5 1600 AF, 16 GB RAM at 3200 MHz, 250 ssd, 1 TB HDD, COOLER MASTER MWE WHITE 230V 550W, B450 Aorus Elite v2. It doesn't produce coil whine either—it's separate.

Noise occurs even when not running, began this week
Is there a quiet, fanless setting available for the PSU? Also, does it produce any noise while the fan is running?
It seems like a mechanical noise coming from the fan, possibly related to the case opening. You can try examining the side by rolling an A4 sheet into a tube and directing it toward the PSU to locate the source more accurately. The sound frequency doesn’t match typical high-speed fans, which also aligns with the rotation speed of PSU fans. If the noise originates from the PSU itself, it could indicate a mechanical issue with the fan or damage to the blades hitting nearby wires or insulation materials. Sometimes loose cardboard fragments can become embedded during packaging or assembly.
Update: 2024/04/24
The noise disappeared a week after posting this and I haven't heard it in nearly a month. The cause is still unclear.
Things I attempted: Cleaning the entire PC, removing dust and manually taking out some hair from the PSU fan – these steps might have helped, but the noise persisted for a few more days.
I will provide another update if the issue returns.
Because coil whine has been eliminated, it's crucial to look into other possible causes of the sound.
Here are some actions you can try to diagnose and resolve the problem:
Verify Secure Connections
: Make sure all links connecting the power supply unit to your devices are tight. Weak connections may lead to electrical sparks or buzzing sounds.
Examine the PSU Fan
: Accumulated dust or a faulty fan can generate noise from the PSU. Check the fan closely to ensure it's rotating correctly and free from debris. Clean it with compressed air if needed.
Track PSU Temperature
: Utilize monitoring software to observe the PSU temperature while it runs. Excessive heat can sometimes result in noise or other complications. If the temperature remains high, enhance airflow or switch to a more efficient PSU with superior cooling features.
