The ram on the old Mobo supports only 2 slots cspable, with a maximum of DDR3 16 gb. The gigabyte 550M offers 4 slots of DDR4 RAM exceeding 64 gb. The user considered installing a Gigabyte AMD 2060 graphics card, but it's too large at 8 inches. They thought the AMD 1660 would fit and could work until they reduce the 2026 model by three inches.
I'm unsure about the details. The mentioned components seem to be from Nvidia, not AMD. Are you asking if the DDR3 is suitable for your system and whether you've purchased or already have DDR4 memory for the new motherboard?
Hy again, the DDR3 isn’t included in the pre-built Lenovo H50-55, while the DDR4 comes from the 550m model by Mobo. This newer option fits better with the older Lenovo case and works with the existing hardware like fans, hard drives, DVD/CD players, etc. Regarding the graphics cards, both the 1660 and 2060 are from Nyvidia and AMD. It seems Nyvidia targets the commercial sector more, whereas AMD focuses on the domestic market. I might have misunderstood this. All of this is just what I’ve read recently, and I’m still learning. I thought if I could manage it and share my discoveries, it could inspire others to take on this confusing world of computing. Lol
