Your components are showing a completely different setup for an older system. Are you sure this is what you intended to purchase?

Not considered a budget. I’ll just buy what I can afford when I can. I’m really doing this to learn about PCs, give myself something to do, and keep my brain active. I’m 76 years old and not close to the big tech scene, so with two Lenovo H50-55 models I thought I’d try a new activity. After finishing, I’ll just shop on them because gaming feels too fast now. So far I have a new Mobo and a Procdor for the old Lenovo. A Gigabyte B550M is coming soon, plus new DDR3 RAM and a 400-watt PSU. That means I can pick my path later, but my plan is to stick to the shopping list and see where tech takes me, because changes happen every week lol.

I would have advised against using that outdated technology. A modern Windows 11 system could have been achieved within the same budget.

Yes, a win 11 seems suitable but would it fit in the Lenovo H50-55 case? I already have a Win 11 PC, but I really prefer the Lenovo for its ease of use. Probably because I've been using it for so long now. I'm not too worried about new technology, but I started out just wanting to upgrade from the old Lenovo to something faster with better graphics. I know the internal parts are outdated by the sell-by date, so the update makes sense. But I also have to think about my current abilities at my age, lol. The comparison is like I used to drive a 40-ton tanker now I fall off a moped — it happens to everyone, right?

The DDR3 memory is incompatible with the new motherboard. It needs DDR4 instead.

This matter, regarding the Lenovo, ought to be your main concern.
When building a completely new PC, consider upgrading the case.
What you're doing is essentially starting anew.
