I reinstalled the battery and it started without showing the error, but the speeds in BIOS remain unchanged. The boot-up time has increased significantly from about 10 seconds to a much slower duration. Should I try removing the battery once more and test performance again?

So I waited roughly an hour, removed the battery, kept the laptop off, and then turned it back on after a while. It started showing a blue screen with the message “thread stuck in device driver.” After that, Windows booted up but everything ran very slowly, and even the animated wallpaper from Wallpaper Engine was running at about 10 frames per second instead of the normal 60. What does this mean? I also looked for answers online, and some people suggested the battery might need more power while charging to help with all the activity. Thoughts?

Is the system performing a fresh restart (clicking start → power → shutdown) or is it utilizing sleep/hibernate? Does the BSOD display the driver file within the message body?

Yes, I pressed the Windows button and shut down. The blue screen showed no driver errors, just the code I had before. I checked everything in Device Manager—everything looked normal except for the missing battery in the laptop. Before that, I tried restarting with the power button, but it didn’t seem to help much. Performance improved slightly, but it’s around 40% of what it used to be.

Set up WhoCrashed, it will identify which driver caused the crash. A faulty driver might also be responsible for the slowdown.

This outcome seems related to you manually shutting down the laptop to reach the BIOS. Could it be the reason? The crash dump and bugcheck details point to a potential issue in the device driver. A DirectX driver was found on the stack, suggesting a possible software fault. It might be due to a driver error or hardware problems such as overheating.

Get the newest AMD and Intel drivers (don't install them yet), then use DDU to clear the previous ones, after which install the fresh drivers and check if it improves things.

I followed all your instructions and restarted the laptop, which brought it to safe mode. I then closed safe mode using msconfig in the settings and restarted again. Now the system is stuck on that specific screen.
