Two years back Intel faced problems with 13/14 generation processors.
It looks like motherboard manufacturers were too eager to boost power by default on their boards. The CPUs couldn't cope with the higher voltage, leading to damage.
Since then, the problem has been resolved and clarified.

They send a new CPU, but fixing the problem once it happens isn't possible. I installed mine within a week, and they offered to swap the new one for the old one after I received it. They placed a hold on my credit card beforehand, but canceled it if I returned the old one within 30 days. I thought the whole process was straightforward.
Please understand how they operate in Thailand, as they are likely manufactured there and could be even quicker.
