I believe you're fine.
However, asking this question early could be wise before making a purchase.
Two years back Intel faced problems with 13/14 generation processors.
It looks like motherboard manufacturers were too eager to boost power by default on their boards. The CPUs couldn't cope with the higher voltage, leading to damage.
Since then, the problem has been resolved and clarified.

Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen Vmin Shift Instabilty Update - New Microcode Update (0x12F)
To keep improving, Intel has issued a new microcode update (0x12F), building on the September 2024 0x12B release. This update enhances system stability and may help prevent Vmin Shift Instability.

Updating your BIOS to version 12100 is recommended for models running 14600K, as it addresses necessary fixes.
I wouldn't attempt overclocking.

I possess a laptop and a backup desktop equipped with an i5-4590 processor, just in case.
😉
The return merchandise authorization process typically takes a certain amount of time; your item will be shipped in a box with a 5-year warranty.

I have two backup machines, how long does RMA take if there are issues and what happens to the chip or the device?

I believe the choice was wise, and I’m sure you’ll appreciate the enhanced performance. Consider upgrading to a cooler such as the Thermalright Peerless Assassin. What power supply do you currently have? Is it sufficient for this new setup?

You're right. It seems the motherboard changed for those models. Upgrading the BIOS could be necessary, but swapping the CPU might be the simplest solution.

They send a new CPU, but fixing the problem once it happens isn't possible. I installed mine within a week, and they offered to swap the new one for the old one after I received it. They placed a hold on my credit card beforehand, but canceled it if I returned the old one within 30 days. I thought the whole process was straightforward.

Please understand how they operate in Thailand, as they are likely manufactured there and could be even quicker.

I own a Deep Cool PF 450 and may add a graphics card, likely a GTX 1050, possibly a 450w power supply.

Gtx 1050 is a low-power card, using about 75 watts. It's difficult to determine if your PSU would suffice with more specifics...such as age, brand, model number, etc. If you were to upgrade it, most premium replacements would start around 550 watts.
