Is a new laptop featuring an i3 12th gen processor a good improvement?
Hello,
I've been using the HP Pavilion G6-2149TX for 12 years and believe it's time to upgrade.
It's clear I'm not a big laptop fan, which is why I've stuck with the 3rd Gen i5 for so long.
Now the machine feels outdated, and I don't want to invest too much in a new one.
Could an i3 12th Gen be a good upgrade?
I'm considering the Dell Vostro 3520 Laptop with Intel Core i3-1215U.
I suggest considering at least the Inspiron, even if you check their refurbished outlet. The Vostro is their budget option and doesn’t really reflect their top-quality products. It’s tough to predict what’s coming with all the improvements in recent years, but remember that an i3 might become outdated faster than an i5 in most situations.
What is your budget?
And what is your use case? What are you planning to use it for?
500$ and I use it for browsing, reading books and that's all.
It seems like you're asking about workload and device performance. Are you noticing any changes in speed or issues with your HP laptop?
if that's the extent of what you're doing, I suggest this laptop—I've used it myself for just watching YouTube and reading.

if you need a bit more power or extra RAM, here are some options within your budget.
I usually recommend AMD over Intel because AMD offers better integrated graphics.
Yes, having a browser and an antivirus running in the background leads to it slowing down and stalling
