Is 11700k experiencing a slowdown when under heavy usage?
This build has introduced more problems than I wish to discuss, which is why I’m sorry for the repeated questions.
I’ve been out of touch with Intel since the 7700K, possibly that’s the reason.
I’ve looked through numerous overclock guides on YouTube, Reddit, and Tom’s website about this CPU.
In short, the settings are set to 50 cores multi on each of the 8 cores at 1.350V temperatures, never going above 60-65°C during games running at 5GHZ. LLC Extreme is enabled, Multi Core Enhancement is turned off, and Speed Step is disabled.
When I run programs like Prime95, OCCT, Intel Burn Test, or Cin R23, my temperatures stay below 75°C, but my cores drop to 4600MHZ and 1.200V.
What could be causing this consistent performance in games versus extreme stress tests?
I’ve disabled all the settings that should lower multi, yet it still happens.
I’m open to trying anything—just let me know what you think.

It seems like a driver or software might be interfering with the OC process. Thermal or power throttling on the motherboard could cause it to reduce frequency more noticeably.
Enable Multi Core Enhancement and see if that fixes it. That alone should allow you to game or test at 5.0GHz on all cores out of the box. (Unless I'm unaware of something that has changed since the 7700K). I have also been away from Intel since then.
Really? You've adjusted the Vcore to a high setting, but why would it still bluescreen when using a 400mhz drop? I'm familiar with bluescreening caused by low Vdroop tanking voltage, though... Additionally, 4.6ghz is the default all-core turbo speed for the 11700K, which might explain why it doesn't trigger BSOD. Question - Why does disabling C-States in BIOS limit my processor to 4800mhz? And why does it drop to around 4800mhz when I enable C-States? I noticed that when C-States was off, the frequency would be about 4800-5200mhz during full use. If you're asking why I turned off the C-States option because my system would crash, thank you. Monitor 165Hz Gamer 27" Dell S2721DGF... forums. See posts 6 and 10. This seems to be the latest discussion I've found about it.
If you could help the captain understand why his 11700K is returning to its default core frequency, that would be appreciated.
I managed to adjust each turbo core multiplier separately. It still works at 50x 5ghz with 1.374 volt and a max temp of 69°C after 5 minutes, which is fine for me. Thanks everyone for the assistance. This wasn't mentioned in the guides I followed—it might be specific to my motherboard.
Wut. Das ist seltsam; ich glaube, dieser Schritt ist eigentlich nicht so wichtig. Ich habe noch nicht viele OC-Tipps durchgesehen.
