Hey there! It sounds like your connection isn’t performing as expected after switching to Windows 10. The speed test shows a much slower download than what you’re seeing online. With a wireless network, the issue might be due to interference or distance. You could try optimizing your router settings, moving closer to it, or using a wired connection if possible. Let me know if you want more tips!

They don't have issues. Many sites restrict download speeds to allow more users to upload simultaneously. Without limits, their site could receive excessive traffic and trigger DOS errors. Ethernet offers some benefit but is limited.

But 25KB/s? That’s the speed I achieved when downloading Blender. Usually that download is much quicker. I don’t have a Windows key, do you think this might be related?

It looks like you resolved the issue by stopping two copies of svchost.exe in Task Manager, resulting in a combined internet traffic of 180KB/s.

Background tasks occasionally encounter issues. Once there was a case with 10Mbit instead of the usual 12.

Could be a Windows update or another program installing updates automatically. Or possibly malware is involved.

Speedtest shows downloads in bits per second, whereas other sites might list them in bytes per second. 8 bits equals 1 byte, and bits per second equals bps; bytes per second stands for Bps. If closing a process created a slowdown, it likely means Windows was handling something in the background or another issue occurred.
