I own a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC motherboard with stable performance over the years. The WiFi setup uses an antenna that fits directly onto the board. On Monday (10/02) I powered it on without issues and turned it off. Today (12/02) I restarted it and immediately lost WiFi access—no network options available. No one has any insight into what might be wrong or how to resolve it. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Restarted the system multiple times
- Disconnected and reconnected the antenna
- Ran Windows troubleshooter
- Verified BIOS settings to confirm WiFi is enabled (only Ethernet devices visible)
- Connected PC via Ethernet to my router, which works but blocks internet access, preventing driver checks
Has to be a last resort. I haven’t done any updates since I last used it so baffled how it’s happened
What specific components the device requires are being used, and whether they are already present.
Completed the task, I notice the same as your top two except the WiFi name is different. It recognizes its presence yet fails to connect.
I’m opting to reinstall Windows again, clearly a reasonable choice if you’re only doing it as a final option. It actually resolved my slow gateway laptop when Bluetooth suddenly disappeared. Make sure you have the right drivers for your motherboard—you can download them from a USB drive. Remember, Windows will preserve all your files and data, so unless you’re extremely cautious, you’re not putting yourself in danger by resetting it.
