I managed to trick Windows into thinking it's running an HD 4000, but is that beneficial? I'm looking to play games such as Fortnite on this setup.

I don't know, my laptop has 2x4gb ram, which means it's actually 8gb. I'm not very comfortable with hardware, so I shared this here just because of that ^^

You can navigate back to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake 1, 2, Company of Heroes 1, Warcraft 3, and other classic titles. Nice games! Fortnite isn't possible.

If you aim to assemble a fully compatible PC using the CPU with HD3000 graphics, consider checking out CEX (which also offers online services). A more powerful GPU than a Nvidia 960 or AMD 280 will work for Fortnite. These options are available around 50GBP and come with a warranty—should they fail, you can return them.
HD4000 meets the Intel minimum requirements.

I don't want to alter the CPU at all.
