I’m checking my setup with a Kraken x73 and ROG STRIX Z390-F. All front fans share one port (CHA_FAN2) while the rear fan connects to another (CHA_FAN1). The old models had a splitter for the pump, but now that’s gone. I’m wondering if there are compatible connectors on the motherboard to drive the three fans or if I need a hub or a PWM splitter.

You have a variety of connectors available on your motherboard. Check the manual to locate them. The watercooler pump cable should be inserted into the designated "AIO pump header."

From what I’ve learned everywhere, the pump cable should connect to the CPU_FAN port. Some adapters don’t let you adjust fan speeds directly, and using the PSU to drive the fans might be a simpler option.

The aio pump connects to the aio pump header, while the fans link to the CPU header and the CPU opt header. All fan speeds and pump speed can be managed using the AI software.

CPU_FAN controls airflow for the processor, while AIO_PUMP manages water cooling fans automatically.

Aio_pump operates at full capacity continuously, which meets your needs. The CPU fan speed adjusts accordingly. You might consider using a Y cable on the CPU fan or CPU_opt, or a fan hub—your choice depends on preference. I personally use a Y cable and it functions well.

I would place the pump in the pump header as well. The cpu_fan guidance applies to standard motherboards without AIO_pump headers. If you have an AIO_PUMP, use that one. You can still manage the pump speed on it if I recall correctly, but it will notify you if the pump fails, which is what you need.
