Hello there, I've been attempting to switch from Windows to Linux and have tried installing Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Pop OS, and openSUSE. However, I consistently run into an error after spending over three days troubleshooting without success. I've attached a screenshot of the issue you're facing, which causes the device to freeze completely. I've disabled various boot options like Fast Boot, Secure Boot, TPM, Windows Fast Boot, and Hibernation, along with many guides that didn't help. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. System details: Model Acer Swift 3 SF314-41, AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Mobile GFX, 2100Mhz, 4 cores; RAM 12GB DDR4 2400Mhz; GPU AMD Radeon Vega 8; SSD 512GB NVMe SATA from Kingston. Current OS is Windows 11 Pro.

It occurs during startup in the Ubuntu Live setup, whether compatible mode is enabled or not, and also in OEM mode.

Are you certain it’s freezing? It seems to happen gradually once you get past that stage, with no clear indication right away of why it would freeze.

I stored it overnight but it remained stuck. The initial job timer is locked at 35 seconds and isn't progressing.

Other problems on the Ubuntu forum were fixed by updating their BIOS to the newest release. You might want to verify if you have the most recent BIOS version installed.

It appears the problem relates to USB. Would you like me to attempt disconnecting all devices connected to a USB port?

I removed everything except the installation USB, but the issue remains unresolved.

Things are going haywire with Linux again. On the Ubuntu forums, I saw someone mention using dd mode for writing USB drives. It seems like this might be the solution right now. My understanding stops here.
