VM doesn't seem suitable for casual gaming, so I'm considering Windows XP with Windows 8.1 64-bit. This would let me enjoy TOCA Race Driver 2, one of my earliest favorite titles. I'm still learning about system compatibility and have questions about mainboard support for both XP BIOS and 8.1 UEFI.

It wasn't very useful. If you read my previous post, you'd understand.

Are you having trouble with compatibility settings? This is just a test.

Windows XP stands out as a major success for Microsoft. Consider trying Windows ME/2000 before Windows XP, and evaluate hardware and software support to determine if it’s considered a poor operating system.

It seems the software won’t function properly on Windows 8.1. TOCA Race Driver 2 has StarForce copy protection problems on this older system, and after trying to remove and update it didn’t resolve the issue.

It's not feasible unless you're using Windows XP on a different drive via legacy boot. I favor Windows XP x64 because it handles GPT-style disks properly, not just for installation but as a secondary drive. All Windows XP applications should function on this setup.

I'm not trying to be confrontational. What I shared might seem a bit strong, but I just wanted to mention that Windows XP has been a major success for Microsoft, dominating the OS market for more than a decade. I also believe it's one of the most reliable operating systems available. The only Windows versions I consider stable are XP, 7, and 10.
