Purchased an MSI gaming X RX 580 with 8GB RAM to swap in for my ASUS AREZ RX 560 with 4GB. I aim to enjoy shooters like CS2, PUBG, Warzone, and Fortnite at 1600x900p on the RX 580. However, I’m seeing the same or lower FPS than before. I’ve tried everything: checking the drive, reinstalling games, adjusting settings, re-flashing BIOS, changing paste values, and cleaning the GPU. My system specs are: i7-4770 400W, hexa+ power supply, 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, 1600MTZ HP Elite Desk, 800g1 motherboard, case MS Element M300 (3 intake, 1 exhaust).

Check how much CPU and GPU are being used in the games. If the CPU hits full capacity and GPU usage stays below 90%, it suggests the CPU is the bottleneck. You likely have it running at normal speeds. Edited January 24, 2025 by thrasher_565

Yes, it's possible to get higher graphics settings than 560 while maintaining the same FPS. Resolution can also be adjusted accordingly.

In the warzone, the RX 560 achieved 45-50 FPS at performance settings, while the RX 580 delivered 27-30 FPS under the same conditions.

The temperatures are looking good. I used a few different programs for optimization—AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and some custom scripts.

You didn’t use DDU to remove old drivers prior to installing new ones. The CPU performance seems limited, but it’s unlikely to be the main issue.
