You have a 2TB, 500GB HDD and a 64GB SSD. You want to transfer your Windows 10 installation from the HDD to the SSD without moving your programs. You can use a tool like DiskPart or a GUI utility such as CCleaner or Windows Installer to move the operating system files directly to the SSD. Make sure you back up any important data first.

For optimal performance, a fresh installation is necessary. This ensures your OS runs smoothly on an SSD with separate program storage. Alternatively, remove unwanted apps and files from the SSD, clone the OS there, and then reinstall the desired software—though it may require more effort than a standard setup.

This should work with your current key.

According to my view, a 64GB SSD isn't sufficient for Windows 10. Prices for SSDs have dropped significantly lately. I'd opt for a 500GB SSD and install the operating system along with all applications there. Keep the HDD for storing data only.

Remove every installed application, shrink the files stored on the disk down to fit within the 64GB SSD space. However, this storage device is quite limited.

I recently verified my Win 10 storage and it stands at 23GB. The USERS folder occupies 16GB, while Windows generates temporary files each time an update is installed that isn't removed for a few weeks. I'm unsure if the USERS file should be moved to a different drive; I believe a minimum OS drive size today is around 128GB, but I think 250GB would be better for peace of mind and smooth performance.

I've tested several Windows machines with only a 64GB boot SSD; they're still operational today. Limited storage, but they function properly. The OS requires additional space on a hard drive, though with just 64B it should run fine.

We searched for a solution using some tools but it shows the destination drive is too small. I have a 500GB HDD, a 2TB HDD, and a 64GB SSD. I only want Windows 10 on the SSD, nothing else. Can I move just Windows 10 to the smaller drive? Which folders should I transfer to the 2TB HDD?
