I'm experienced with PC builds, began upgrading my toaster in 2015 and now own three separate systems. I’m currently using a solid setup. However, switching from my Teriible AM3 to AM4 with Ryzen caused this issue: a screen stutter followed by a buzzing sound from the speakers. You probably think it’s the GPU, but it wasn’t. I upgraded from a 1050 Ti to the 2080 and it still works... Maybe unstable memory or failing RAM is the cause. I’ve replaced it twice and it remains. Possibly the CPU setting is the problem—upgraded from a 1600 to a 3600x, but it’s still happening. Now we dig deeper. My old B350M motherboard feels outdated compared to first-gen parts. My $250 X570 still performs well. Eventually, I noticed more frequent BSODs and decided to upgrade storage: enterprise Seagate HDDs and a Samsung 870 Evo+. After cloning the OS onto a USB drive and running startup repair, nothing was found. I replaced all major components except fans, case, and a 1000W EVGA titanium PSU with a ten-year warranty. I believe it’s fixed—how could it keep happening? After all the $2000 investment, this keeps occurring. I’m unsure if I’m cursed or losing my mind, but if I can’t fix it, building another rig might be impossible. This has ruined my passion for DIY PCs. I initially loved the concept but now it’s just endless troubleshooting. Sorry for the rant, everyone. If you made it this far, please share any tech genius ideas you have. Seriously—what specs are these? EVGA 2080, Ryzen 5 3600x, Corsair Vengance, 16GB at 3200MHz, MSI X570, Samsung 870 Evo+, RAID SSDs, 1000W PSU, and a lot of patience.
You only performed a fresh Windows installation and addressed the speaker audio feedback by using a grounding loop solution. The issue was resolved after trying a loop noise isolator.
This board includes its own sound unit. It doesn’t clarify the stuttering issue either. I’ve already addressed that before, but it was early in the setup. Maybe trying it now could help. Also, I’m still seeing memtest errors after installing a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU—Windows might not be able to handle that well.
I'm actually doing stock work. There are issues with a B350m board running at 2400MHz and again at 2666MHz RAM. After swapping the CPU and motherboard to a 3600 and an X570, they still function. The failures don't follow a pattern either. Tests on the 5th, 7th, or 9th seem to fail randomly. No matter the setup, I can't shake the feeling these components are faulty. I assembled my PC without any static discharge protection. I did it on hardwood flooring, wearing only my underwear and right next to the sink (grounding point). I'm not sure if I'm causing the damage myself.
You're right to suspect the issue isn't with the titanium itself. It's possible the component is faulty.
Since the manual for my AM3 board never explained it, and I haven’t heard of an EVGA PSU breaking down (even the bronze ones), I assumed something else might be the issue. Now I’m limited in what I can do.
