Power supplies from EVGA often stop working just like regular ones, and white and bronze models tend to be the worst. Don’t rely solely on a brand—there are many bad units out there.
Occasionally, PSU's cause issues. My previous power supply (brand uncertain now) led to RAM defects and audio problems. Even with a new sound card, my memory sticks kept failing. Eventually, when the PSU failed, replacing it resolved the problem, and my system works well now—after four years. P.S. Audio card remains installed.
I experienced a build similar to this, so I no longer reuse old components in new installations. My advice is to start from scratch with a fresh Windows setup, applying all updates first, then drivers. This approach also explains why I haven’t switched to AMD yet—it’s about stability. The chances of issues seem like: corrupt installation → bad RAM → motherboard failure → power supply problems. To check memory issues, try using just one RAM stick.
