Consider getting a Ryzen 5 1600 in 2021 only if you can source it for less than £100. An i5-10400f offers significantly better performance and costs around £130. You’ll need to pick a B460 motherboard that fits for under £80. Check reviews focusing on VRM cooling and expansion options.
This chip offers great value for its cost. I’d be willing to spend £150 on it. Be aware that the Intel stock cooler isn’t very effective—you’ll start working, but under heavier tasks your CPU will struggle above 70°C. For better performance and quieter operation, consider a budget tower cooler such as the Hyper 212 Evo or the black edition for a sleeker look.
I discovered this motherbored, is it worth it or should I check another option?
This wouldn't work with an Intel CPU. Try the B460 instead of B450. However, that motherboard seems quite poor. # Edit: any board featuring the LGA 1200 socket would be fine, I’d recommend B460.
I think this one works ,I think. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-B460M-...821&sr=8-3
Intel boards come at a higher cost, but they restrict certain options such as CPU overclocking and XMP support. This means you might achieve superior performance with a 1600 AF. The design lacks heatsinks for the VRMs, indicating lower build quality.
