Hey there, so I just set up my first computer but hit a snag. I thought everything was installed right, but soon after turning it on, the CPU starts to overheat (check the video). My cooler is the Arctic Liquid Freeze II 360 and the motherboard is the ASUS TUF Gaming Z790 Pro with an i7-14700K. I also have a green/red indicator—likely showing the CPU temperature spikes before it alerts me. I’m completely confused and don’t have much experience with this stuff. I saw some info online about the Arctic Rev 1 not including an LGA 1700 upgrade kit, but that doesn’t seem to be an issue? https://support.arctic.de/lf2-lga1700 Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Did you remove the protective layer from the AIO’s active area? Are you checking whether thermal paste was applied?

I managed most of the work by myself. I removed the plastic from the aio and applied thermal paste.

Confirm everything is securely fastened and ensure proper connection to the CPU. Verify that fans and the water pump are connected to the correct ports on the motherboard.

I only had one cable to connect after testing several headers, yet none worked. I took out the cooling once more and everything appears fine, but I’m not sure if that’s the right thing.

Mounting appears fine, please verify. CPU temperatures in BIOS, during Windows boot and after 5 minutes (using HWInfo64) at the connection you used—check if the small VRM fan and the rad fans are spinning (look at RPM with HWInfo)—if you can hear the pump running, use your hand to feel the tube temperature near the pump and near the rad; it should be close together. If it feels hot near the pump and cool near the rad, there may be an issue with the flow.

I tried my best guess at matbrs and looked through the PD's list to find any issues you might have.

It seems the AIO is working properly, but the mounting pressure might have been insufficient. Consider reinstalling it carefully—tighten it firmly but avoid over-tightening. Begin by securing one corner slightly, then the opposite side, repeating this pattern for the remaining corners. Finally, gradually increase the tightness on each corner until everything is securely fastened.

Sure, I'll give it a shot. Is it typical for the CPU to heat up quickly during operation?
