You understand the card you chose matches nearly any graphics card available today, right? While you’d need a stronger power supply, it delivers significantly better performance than expected. Often, the 270x offers double the output of the 750Ti. The additional PSU costs only about $30 more.

You might consider the Pentium G3258, though only if you're willing to overclock it. It's quite affordable and offers significant overclocking capabilities.

Dual core handles those early titles well. I'm not sure about many others, but BioShock: Inf ran smoothly at 50-60 FPS on my system with a G3258 and 750Ti. You should be all set for it and likely other games from that era.

I understand you were looking for a dual-core setup, and that’s acceptable for the games you mentioned. Based on the guidance from the two individuals above and using your parts list as a starting point, I managed to create a better list of components for just 15 cents more than yours (which came as a pleasant surprise). Off topic: Maybe I should note in my signature that I might be a bit sloppy when I’m tired.

Intel processors offer significantly greater performance compared to AMD options. This often results in improved frame rates for an i3 model at a slightly increased price.

Sure, I've been using AMD for some time now. I believe it's time to move on. I'd save money on a card right away to upgrade to a better CPU, and then switch to a more powerful GPU later.
