The 3000g works well as a short-term CPU if you're just using it for a few months. For longer use, opting for a new dual-core would be preferable over a discontinued 4-core that lacks support. Additionally, the 3000g uses the 14nm process, so no BIOS updates are needed for older AM4 boards.
When you find it affordable, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad CPU. Just make sure your motherboard supports it, because it’s a third generation chip and needs the latest BIOS, even though it runs on the older Zen design.
Searching for a Ryzen 5 1400 with 4 cores and 8 threads. I own one. It's a solid CPU. No overclocking support.
I also have one of those. I wouldn't recommend the CPU due to limited thread count. However, I've had a moment of clarity—maybe a 200 or 220GE would work in the future when finances allow. I own one of each model too.
