i9-10900k vs Ryzen Zen 3 5950x

I focus mainly on gaming, so should I opt for the i9-10900k or hold off until the Ryzen 5950x drops and we can test it? Right now I’m using an i7-7700k with a Rog Strix Z270F motherboard. I plan to completely overhaul the setup—switching to a new board, more RAM, a faster CPU, and probably an AIO cooler for the processor.

Typically, buyers can afford these processors. As mentioned before, if you're keen on Zen 3 chips, hold off until the benchmarks are ready.

Intel has moved on; the 5900X and 5950X aren’t being challenged much yet. Keep an eye on the benchmarks before deciding. Avoid the 10900K just yet—it might run slower when power consumption doubles.
