Liquid metal needs careful handling. It may chemically interact with aluminum coolers and heat blocks. It can also cause discoloration on your CPU and cooler.

Maintain below 80°C during regular operation. Normal idle temperatures range from 30 to 45°C.

I get really worried when my CPU temperature exceeds 72 degrees Celsius. You're almost hitting the limit of safe heat levels for the processor. High temperatures can really slow it down. The CPU itself isn't affected by staining, and the H100i model includes a copper cooling plate which helps manage the heat effectively.

The IHS on my i7-7700K shows different results. I think it left a residue, but also noticed heat buildup. Perhaps the top side stays cooler and doesn’t leave marks. I used TG Conductonaut between the chip and the IHS.

Sure, I understand. You're considering purchasing an i9900k next month because of your 4K work, or you might hold off until you can compare the new Ryzen options.

Thanks for the response, it's great.
Simplify things and aim for a strong temperature since I'm planning to sell soon and don't want to risk shortening someone's lifespan.

Thanks for the response, everyone appreciate it, it should work.
Keep it simple and maintain a good temperature, since I'm planning to sell soon and don't want to risk shortening the product's lifespan.

What version of Prime95 was being used? Only v26.6 is advised, with minor FFTs the standard 100% load/actual performance level. (Prime 95's default configurations use 'blended' mode, resulting in lower or more fluctuating CPU temperatures, along with increased RAM transfers, usually.) My own (non-delidded) 7700K achieves 78°C in P95/small FFTs even at 4.7 GHz...(67C gaming load temperatures)
