rodolphe.viard :
You might turn off the turbo boost feature, since it appears to restrict your cores to 4.4GHz when all cores are under stress.
Why is that? You can notice that each case has 50, but the applied value is 45 for one core and 44 for the others.
Tell me what you think.
Rodolphe.

There's something wrong in your bios.
Try to reset it and then, only mess with core voltage and multiplier.

I managed to make changes in the bios menu, but the updates didn't affect the cpu. However, in the RAM it does update, and I use a software called easy tuner that I didn't install, thinking it would stop any modifications for the cpu. But I can now apply profile settings from gigabyte software that adjusts the voltage to 1.22 and 4.7 ghz, which works well. Still, whenever I try to increase the settings further and run a stress test after about 10 seconds, my pc freezes completely.

I never managed to reach 5ghz on my i7 7700k without adjusting the voltage to 1.40v. I've seen others achieving around 1.38v at that speed, but you need to know how to tweak it properly. Check out what others reported: http://www.overclock.net/forum/5-intel-c...stics.html

Maybe your chip won't reach 4.8. Silicone lottery... 1.35V at 4.8GHz might be possible. Then reduce the voltage until it becomes unstable. What methods have you used? Rodolphe.
