I5 11400 overheating issue?
Hello, Your new PC’s CPU is running hotter than usual during gaming sessions. After checking the Q-LED light and seeing it on while playing CSGO, I confirmed there was an issue. After quitting the game and monitoring the temperature, it dropped to around 85℃ before cooling down. The cooler you’re using is a Cooler Master Hyper T2 with the included thermal paste. You have two intake fans and two exhaust fans in your case. When idle or browsing, your CPU stays at about 40℃. This range isn’t typical for this model, so it’s likely overheating. Consider checking fan alignment, cleaning dust from vents, or upgrading cooling components. Let me know if you need more guidance!
It's slightly elevated, yet 82 isn't cause for concern. When it reaches the 90s, you might begin to worry.
Speccy is known for inaccurate temperature readings. Consider using alternative tools such as HWInfo or HWMonitor.
Are you sure your setup is built correctly? All Fans blowing in the direction they should? Does your Airflow work - Can you feel the heat being sent out by the system? Sometimes, Intake or Exhaust don't work properly due to a wrongly installed Fan and this can lead to Issues like this. Also, are you sure you have the thermal paste covering the whole die? does the cooler master work fine? 40 idling sounds warm. If you don't live in a hot climate, I would say something is wrong. Maybe your Computer is just placed in a bad spot like a closed shelve or against a Wall, causing the air to stay in the system.
Check if the heatsink is securely attached and the fan is rotating properly. (Could require applying new paste.) Make sure the CPU isn’t overheating.
100 degrees while gaming isn't ideal. What kind of case are you using? Does it provide adequate airflow? I’d double-check that the CPU cooler is securely fastened. As far as I remember, Hyper T2 lets you add a second fan, which you should think about installing. It doesn’t have a huge heat sink.
The case is named Montech Flyer. The airflow isn't problematic, but the front intake is somewhat limited. I plan to let the system chill out and then disassemble it to reinstall the cooler.
