I'm sure I tested every email I used and found no extra accounts, so I'll keep using Steam. I won't purchase games from Epic anymore—it seems like a gaming hub for gamers.

This has no connection to either of them. It’s your responsibility to monitor your spending and retain your receipts—not Epic’s. Honestly, I receive a receipt for every free game I claim on Epic and I store them just like any other.

I'm not suggesting it's impossible, and I don't want to support Epic, but it would be surprising if they allowed such a situation. Did you purchase the game from Epic or from a third-party store? They can cancel games if the keys were obtained through fraud.

last year hogwarts legacy came out, i bought the extended version from epic games store but my setup couldn't handle it because of my old hardware. later i upgraded to a better machine, but now i'm stuck trying to fix the issue without buying the game again. i need help solving this without spending more money.

Have you reached out to Epic Games regarding this problem? I’m not sure they tricked you—they don’t. Likely there’s an easy solution, but you’ll need to get in touch with the Epic Store first.

It seems you haven’t signed in to the incorrect second account that’s been unused for years. You should have received confirmation emails after purchasing or redeeming the game. These receipts serve as proof you originally owned the items.

Without any proof of purchase, it'll be tough to back up this claim... you need a receipt or confirmation in your messages. If you don’t have one, then tell me what your proof is?
