Do you have a specific reason for choosing the 5070ti? Unless you're interested in ray tracing, I'd opt for the 9070xt instead. It's more affordable and may offer better raster performance. Additionally, the next generation of cards should be available by year-end, so you might prefer to hold off if you're committed to Nvidia. Could you share your resolution, settings, and frame rate?
I'm quite certain the 5070 ti needs three PCIe cables from the PSU. If the adapter features three 8-pin connectors, that makes sense, so you should select three distinct cables (avoid using the same connector on multiple cables). The RM750X includes four PCIe/CPU ports. A single 300 W CPU cable is more than sufficient to run the Ryzen 5800x, which frees up three ports for the GPU. Using only two PCIe 8-pin cables might work in theory, but I wouldn't recommend it. The power surges from the 5070 ti are too close to the two PCIe cables' maximum combined rating of 375 W (150 W each plus the slot's 75 W).

My monitor is a 2560x1440 165Hz G-Sync model. I’m used to getting over 140 FPS, but during the Battlefield 6 test my system couldn’t maintain 100 FPS. For a typical gamer, 90-100 FPS is acceptable, but for me it was noticeable and bothersome. I plan to upgrade so I can push as many frames as possible.
I won’t be buying an AMD card; I like the NVIDIA app.
I should probably open up my case and figure out what's going on down there anyway. I haven't checked my PSU since it was built four years ago. I'll look for the box tomorrow to see what cables I have. 5070 ti suggests 750w, which I already have, so how much headroom would I actually have? I don't even know the wattage my system uses without a GPU.
Following the GPU, the next part of the system that consumes the most power is the CPU. Your setup is a 5800x, reaching a maximum of 160 W when under heavy use. The 5070 ti can experience power surges up to roughly 360 W. Therefore, the combined GPU and CPU should never exceed 520 W. All other components—such as the chipset, drives, fans, RGB, etc.—should not surpass 100 W at any time. In the most extreme situation, if everything spikes simultaneously (which is unlikely), the total shouldn't go beyond 620 W. The RM750X provides a very efficient power supply, so you should be all set.
I also tried the BF6 beta with a RTX 4080 at 4k resolution without upscaling, and achieved around 90-100 frames per second. However, it didn't feel like that high frame rate. I had to rely on upscaling to reach 130-150 fps. It seemed there was something unusual with this beta. There was a high frame rate, but it didn't match the performance, possibly due to hidden frame generation or another artificial method. This wasn't something I've encountered before.
By the way, the only AMD graphics card I used was Adrenalin (the AMD GPU app). It performs much better than the Nvidia app, though the latter is also superior to GeForce Experience.

I kept everything on low settings, especially texture filtering and DLSS, and I managed to cap my FPS at around 85 to keep things running smoothly. However, compared to gaming at 140+ FPS in previous titles, the difference was clear.
How important is vram? For example, 16gb vs 24gb. For a competitive gamer does it make any difference? I'm asking because if I should wait for the 5070 super 24gb rumours instead of buying a gpu now with 16gb
16gb is sufficient now, but it might limit us in the long run.
