Hey, just wanted to check if everything is still okay after taking out my PSU. I'm a bit worried and wondering if it's safe to use it. I was planning to buy the 5070 Ti this week. Also, could you confirm once more that this is the correct cable and it's safe?
Is there rust or dust on the fan grid? Apart from that, there don't appear any clear issues (we don't notice much in this photo).
Yes, this cable should function properly, but for absolute certainty you can ask the chat tool on the Corsair website and save the conversation screenshot.
If you choose to swap the PSU with a newer version (such as RM750X), it will include a 12V-2x6 power connector along with the cable.
It's not rust, just dust. Using a cotton bud and compressed air makes it look clean now. The dust color seems unusual, isn't it strange? Regarding the cable, I'm doubtful about its quality. With an old PSU and newer GPUs, power spikes could cause issues, isn't that possible?
Haha, I'm not scared of dust. As I said before, I'm concerned about the cable. An old PSU might lead to power spikes because it wasn't designed for this kind of GPU? Or is what I'm reading just wrong?
