I need to activate W10 safe mode, but I'm unable to do so.
Hey there! So my main PC with W10 is not working properly—it’s stuck in a black screen with an endless loading white icon. I have a recovery DVD for when I can’t access it, and I followed a video that walked me through the process. I tried every step, checked the priority settings, used the right C mode commands, and pressed F8 repeatedly, but nothing appears. Instead of seeing the usual boot menu, I only get the “select boot device” option. Since Asus didn’t provide a guide for this, I’m worried about losing my important files. I don’t have the manual, and the official Asus FAQ doesn’t cover this issue. Anyone know what to do? Which key replaces F8 on an Asus Z-87 Deluxe? Thanks for your help!
Can you access your login screen? Yes, press and hold Shift while clicking the power button to restart. Once it restarts, release the shift key. If you're having trouble, when the system boots up with spinning dots, gently turn off your PC a few times. This will put your Windows into repair mode where you can choose boot options, including safe mode.
It’s not quite right, but try to imagine it without the cursor and those glowing spheres moving in a loop. There’s no wallpaper or sign-up page reached.
Switch to Safe Mode in Windows 10 by pressing Shift + Restart. Access the Start menu, then select the Power button. While holding Shift, click or tap Restart.
F8 isn't functioning. Allow the computer to boot and when the Windows logo appears, restart it. You may need to try several times. After that, it will scan and repair the drive (lol). Then the recovery options screen will appear—click advanced and look for next boot settings.
