Great, it helps to know what you're looking for. Are you focusing on the Aorus Elite in comparison to Force or Carbon, or do you need something that supports overclocking with your DDR5 6400 RAM? It sounds like a moderate overclock is what you want, and your setup looks solid with a 480 and 360 plus an 80mm 480 rad—cooling should be fine.
Press hard on Elite, even if the price could be better. Both boards support overclocking, but Carbon/Force might actually perform slightly better in theory. Still, a 6400 with a 12th gen CPU on a 4 DIMM setup is uncertain—many chips won’t reach that level. The Force’s advantage lies in its 8-layer design, though no guarantee exists. The real challenge with 12th gen overclocking isn’t the radiator size but extracting heat from the chip itself. Compared to 13th and 11th gen models, 12th draws less power, yet its extreme thermal density makes cooling nearly impossible without liquid metal. You’re unlikely to see significant gains unless you turn off E cores, as there’s simply no room for extra heat.
ok cool and i do use liquid metal...believe it or not im pretty tech savvy just not when it comes to things not working like this lol but i have a new problem i switched out psu just for shits and giggle and now the board wont turn on at all...tho the rgb lights are on very strange....
Consider using the Safe Boot option and checking the previous PSU settings.
returned to the new PSU and everything seemed fine, though the CMOS button still didn’t work. Still, I’m pretty sure this board is beyond repair. Hope there’s a way to reset it or fix the issue. Thanks for all your support—I really needed someone to talk to about this. I’m basically an otaku who’s completely isolated and has no friends. Lol!
