I believe EFI is involved, but I'm confirming the setup. I'm proceeding with an automatic installation on Ubuntu, not another method.

If you're running Ubuntu, enter that command in the Terminal. Checking the directory `/sys/firmware/efi/efivars` will show the files—indicating EFI mode if present. If issues arise, it means you're using BIOS or an older setup. To find the partition table for your hard drive, run `sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda`. This will display details about the disk label.

She might enjoy Ubuntu. It worked on my laptop—though it’s much quicker—in a virtual environment. Its appearance is stunning, making Windows 10 seem dated from 2015.
