I increased the RAM capacity and everything worked smoothly at 2100MHz. However, when I tried to overclock to 3200MHz—similar to what you used with 16GB RAM—the system won’t start.

I have additional parts including a CPU and motherboard. Performance with four sticks tends to be more challenging for the memory controller compared to two, which may limit your ability to reach similar overclocks.

Yes, both have the same frequency from the factory.

perhaps that person had a point; pushing it at 3200mhz across all four channels might strain the system.

I'm testing memtest and it seems similar to what @YoungBlade mentioned. It's possible I won't reach the same boost with four drives.

Using an i7 8700K with DDR4-3200 is essentially an overclock of the memory controller. The processor only supports DDR4-2666. While such CPUs can technically run at higher speeds, they are uncommon and may not perform well under heavy loads. Enabling XMP and manually setting the frequency to DDR4-2666 might work in some cases, but results depend on the specific model and conditions.

Sure! Upgrading from 16GB to 32GB usually feels more spacious and smoother, giving you more room for files, apps, and projects. It’s a noticeable boost in performance and storage capacity.

Having many windows active works better.
