I wouldn't purchase it unless you don't already own one. You might want to keep it for someone who truly needs it.
In theory, you could place an order and reverse your direction on Craigslist to advertise it. Alternatively, you could post it on eBay stating you'll handle pickup once received. On eBay, simply collect it, contact USPS or UPS, apply the new label, and complete the transaction.

Hey, I’m really after the Ryzen 5 5600X but not the graphics card. Would you still have another CPU available? I’d be happy to trade it for the same price of $299. My budget is tight—just enough for that CPU, a different motherboard, and an RTX 3080. I’m considering an EVGA option since the Asus isn’t working out. I joined their waitlist just a couple of days before prices rose. They say they’ll keep the original price around $740. If I can get the CPU at its MSRP, I think I could afford everything else, including the Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 for $60.
I’m not ashamed to mention my situation—being in permanent disability since 2000, currently back in school for CCNA and CCNP certifications. I can provide proof if needed. At 49, things aren’t going well, but I need it. If I can’t get the CPU for its listed price, I might have to splurge on an RTX 3080 for $1000 and then struggle with a low-end Intel i5 and limited RAM. That sounds really frustrating.
